No Regrets
by Cindi Ferrini

I woke up early this morning and had my day planned,
But He changes things with His tender hand.
I do all that He asks me no matter how small,
Knowing He's in control of my days, minutes and all.

I've wiped dishes and toilets, little behinds and some tears,
Come to think of it now I'm wiped out from those dears!
But day has now ended, the night has begun,
It's time for MY free time, relaxation and fun!

I'm ready for quiet with all three tucked in,
And prayer has been said, now the night to begin!
But I hear Kathleen requesting water and a story, saying,
"Make it fun, make it funny, I don't want you to bore me!"

Finally a moment to sit just my husband and I,
But five minutes later we turn with a sigh...
"Mom, I can't sleep, I'm just not tired yet,
Can I sit on your lap?" My answer, "You bet!"

Some cuddles and tickles some laughs and some giggles,
We walked up to bed and snuggled in with some wiggles,
Back down the stairs with my free time in mind...
Kristina's now up with concerns of a different kind!

She now wants to talk, this young little grown up,
I sit back and listen and keep my lips sewn up!
The time is so precious, she trusts me and heeds me,

At this stage she's open, someday she won't need me.
I sit down again for what's left of my leisure
Only to hear Joey is having a seizure!
I know that the night will blend into the day,
Without any thought at his side I will stay.

I've obeyed and kept serving, without any rest,
But there is not doubt I'm abundantly blessed!
The days go by slowly, but the years go by fast,
We look to the future, but too soon it's the past.

Lord, thank You for giving me children to love,
Your grace and Your mercy which comes from above.
And thank You for our mothers who teach us and guide us,
With wisdom and love that only You can provide us.

There's no substitute for a wonderful mother,
Not dad or a nanny, there is simply no other.
Please help me to do the best job I can do,
I want NO REGRETS, only to bring glory to You!

I know what You did with the loaves and the fish,
So if I might ask of You this one little wish...
If in the near future there's any time free,
Would You PLEASE consider multiplying and giving it to me?
